A challenge for our determined and creative team: how would an Intranet portal appear that is as equally poetic as it is functional? How can one take into account the claims of brand-preaching creative persons, such as those from technicians inspired by bits and bytes? But let us start at the beginning.
They radiate in the top international print media – the three Swarovski Graces – the mythical actresses of the Swarovski corporate brand campaign. At the launching of the new and effective visual identity for the Swarovski crystal business sphere, an internal information- and communication portal in the appropriate brand language was to be created. The essential demand was the realisation of an Intranet portal that matched the Swarovski brand identity and which the message of the Swarovski visual identity that was launched in 2006 was strongly communicated to the outside from within and is simultaneously functional to the highest degree.
We really are proud of the result: the navigation is broken down to a few levels and feels fantastically simple; the information is fully personalised and compressed according to the target group. As a staff member one is directly provided with new, relevant news and at the same time gently made familiar and emotionally loaded with the brand. The design is highly avant-garde (for the entire business communication, for example) to the point of being highly functional. Put differently: a basis was created with the Intranet portal in which all business and functions of the Swarovski crystal business sphere worldwide could be clicked to structurally without being obliged to relinquish its own identity and focuses, and nevertheless remain within the visual identity. The entire portal is constructed in a raster of 10 with defined teaser sizes, which are always to a defined basic design. In this way the international editors are highly flexible and can handle art work as equally well as very simple details. Due to the lack of frills, the portal functions very quickly but is also extremely stylish.
The portal was designed, conceived and technically realised in the record time of only one year. The existing Intranets are for the most part already integrated. Further businesses and functions can be simply and quickly entered within a basic structure that is broken down to meet all needs. NETural accompanied the Swarovski Corporate Communication Intranet team from the commissioning of the project from conception to design and templating.
