From April 12 to 17 Linz is scene of the Crossing Europe Film Festival. For six days cinemas in the city show about 130 selected auteur films, documentaries and short films from all over Europe. New this year: the main sponsor – Silhouette Eyewear – and his “seeing without boundaries” Twitterer in Residence program.
The 24-year-old Belgian Sara Vertongen was chosen from among 70 applicants from across Europe. She will be official Twitter live reporter of the festival. Her impressions in real time are available for film and Twitter fans from now on at http://twitter.com/silhouette_swb and http://www.facebook.com/silhouette.
“Sara Vertongen has full access to all events related to Crossing Europe 2011, to all cinema shows and all after-show events,” explains Mr. Albert Ortig, CEO of Netural Communication. The object of Silhouette is to offer an enticement for festival-goers.
Sara Vertongen is in Linz since yesterday and enthusiastic about her role as “Twitterer-in-Residence“ @silhouette_swb: “I feel a bit like a pioneer. Never before has a film festival appointed an independent blogger as Twitter-reporter.”
